Sams New Toy

Sam has a new toy on loan from some friends of ours.  He loves it!  This has been a lifesaver in the evenings- I put him in and he runs around for an good hour while I am able to pick up around the house.

We got together to take five generation pictures with Andrews side of the family recently:

Peach Pickin'

Here are a few snapshots from when I took Sam peach picking a few weeks ago, at Butternut Farm.  He wasn't too sure about peaches at first, but he took to them quite well after a few tries.

Samuel absolutely LOVES listening to people sing.  These pictures are of him listening to Andrew sing to him one night when he was fussy.. his temperament immediately changed and he was happy as can be!  He was cooing and laughing as he listened.  He listens very intently and doesn't take his eyes off you until you're finished.

Samuel and Mommy
Samuel has been holding his head up since day 1.  We like to put him on the floor every day for 'tummy time' so that he can tone those neck muscles! :)

He also has quite the range of expressions.. Of course, whenever I get out the camera to capture them, they are nearly always gone by the time I am ready to snap the picture.  Here are some of his expressions that I did manage to get:

Andrew and I are enjoying parenthood very much, even though it can be tiring sometimes with the late nights and all.  It is definitely worth it.  We are eager to see all this little guys 'firsts.'  First laugh, first steps, first words, first foods.

We have also decided to Home School Samuel.  Andrew and I were both home schooled all the way through high school, and we feel it helped shape who we are as individuals.  We look forward to giving this opportunity to our kids.
